The 2nd Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards ceremony, presented by MultiChoice and Africa Magic, took place on 8 March 2014 at Expo Hall, Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria. The ceremony was televised by DStv and GOtv and hosted by Vimbai Mutinhiri, Osas Ighodaro and IK Osakioduwa.

Nairobi Half Life won four awards and Contract won the Best Picture. Other notable winners included Tope Tedela, who won Best Actor in a Drama for his role in A Mile from Home, and Nse Ikpe Etim, who won Best Actress in a Drama for her performance in Journey to Self. Osita Iheme and Funke Akindele were awarded Best Actor and Actress in a Comedy for The Hero and The Return of Sheri Koko, respectively. The award also honoured Michelle Bello with the Trailblazer Award, Rita Dominic with the newly created New Era Award and Pete Edochie with the Industry Merit Award.[1]

The award nominees list was released on 18 December 2013 and consisted of 27 categories and two honours.[2] Viewers selected the winner of 9 categories through voting. The winners in the other categories were selected by a panel of judges.

Following Africa Magic's 10th Anniversary celebration ceremony at Landmark Village in Victoria Island, Lagos, the nominees were announced by Vimbai Mutinhiri, Lawrence Maleka, and IK Osakioduwa, who made a special appearance on the show, during a special 90-minute edition of the entertainment roundup show, Star Gist.[3]

The award ceremony was held on 8 March 2013 at Expo Hall, Eko Hotel and Suites located in Lagos.[4] The ceremony was broadcast on television by DStv and GOtv. The ceremony was hosted by Osas Ighodaro alongside the previous ceremony hosts Vimbai Mutinhiri and IK Osakioduwa.[5] Fans of Nollywood and Ghallywood were present at the ceremony with live performances by Davido, Bez, Waje and Cobhams Asuquo.[1][6]

The highest nominated works included: Flower Girl (4).[7] Kenyan David Tosh Gitonga's Nairobi Half Life won four awards including Best Cinematographer (for Christian Almesberger), Best Art Director (for Barbra Menesh), Best Make-Up (for Elayne Okaya), and Best Lighting Designer (for Mohamed Zain).[8] Ghanian film producer Shirley Frimpong-Manso won three awards.[1] The award was sponsored by Amstel Malta and presented by MultiChoice, where M-Net's Managing Director for Special Projects, Biola Alabi alongside NBC's Walter Drenth, presented Best Movie Award.[6]
