How to Rob a Bank is a 2026 heist film directed by David Leitch, currently in production under Amazon MGM Studios. The film is scheduled for release on September 4, 2026. It stars Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, Anna Sawai, Pete Davidson, Rhenzy Feliz, and John C. Reilly.

Premise

A crew of bank robbers has been using social media to document heists that they have pulled off, leading to pursuit from the police.[1]

Mark Bianculli wrote the script for a heist film and began developing it for several years with Imagine Entertainment. David Leitch was eventually attached to direct and produce from his production company 87North Productions when Amazon MGM Studios also joined the project.[2] Nicholas Hoult was cast in the lead role in March 2025,[3] with Anna Sawai added to the cast and Pete Davidson entering negotiations to join the following month.[4][5] Davidson was confirmed to join in May,[6] with Rhenzy Feliz and Zoë Kravitz joining the cast.[7][8] John C. Reilly joined the cast in June.[9]

Principal photography began in June 2025, in Pittsburgh.[10][11]
