Background and release
[edit]Following their successful tour in Canada and the U.S., Filipino band December Avenue releases their single, “Saksi Ang Langit” on November 25, 2022.[3]
Composition and lyrics
[edit]The song was composed by Ronzel Bautista and Muriel Danao, and produced by December Avenue and Tower of Doom.[4]
Departing from their usual themes of heartbreak, the song embraces the warmth of unconditional love and showcases the beauty of love at its purest—making it a refreshing and emotional shift in the band’s musical journey.[3]
Jet wrote the song with his children in mind, especially as a reflection of his love and dreams for his daughter—imagining it as a song that could be played at her future wedding. “parang kanta sa magiging kasal niya paglaki. Saksi ang langit sa unconditional love na iyon.” he shares.[3]
But beyond this personal meaning, the band acknowledges that love comes in many forms. Its message can resonate differently with each listener, making every experience both unique and blissful.[3]
December Avenue emphasizes that “Saksi Ang Langit” is a versatile love song—an ode that can reflect the deep bond between a parent and child, a romantic serenade between soulmates, or even a heartfelt expression of self-love.[3]
