Français : Depuis l'année 2009, les cinq anciennes communes d'Asuel, Charmoille, Fregiécourt, Miécourt et Pleujouse ont fusionné sous le nouveau nom de La Baroche. La région des communes ainsi regroupées est depuis toujours appelée « La Baroche » et est connue sous le surnom de « royaume de la Damassine ». La Damassine est une eau-de-vie issue d'une variété de prune cultivée principalement en Ajoie. Sa fleur a donc été choisie comme motif héraldique.
Deutsch: Seit dem Jahr 2009 sind die fünf ehemaligen Gemeinden Asuel, Charmoilles, Fregiécourt, Miécourt und Pleujouse unter dem neuen Namen La Baroche vereinigt. Die Gegend der nun vereinigten Gemeinden wird seit jeher als „La Baroche“ bezeichnet und ist unter dem Übernamen "royaume de la Damassine" bekannt. Damassine ist ein Destillat aus einer Pflaumensorte, die hauptsächlich in der Ajoie angebaut wird. Deren Blüte wurde deshalb als Wappenmotiv gewählt.
