Summary

Description
English: Tribute to Princess Grace, the week end when she would have turned 88.

A Tribute to Princess Grace of Monaco, in association with the Princess Grace Foundation-USA, took place in the Principality, the week end when Princess Grace would have turned 88.

Prince Albert, Princess Caroline, Princess Stephanie, and her daughter Camille Gottlieb, attended The Country Girl viewing on Saturday night.

Two movies – The Country Girl (1954), starring Grace Kelly who won an Oscar for Best Actress, and Bing Crosby, Saturday at 6pm, and Brave Miss World (2013) a documentary by Cecilia Peck, daughter of the late Gregory Peck, Sunday at 6pm – were part of the homage, which was initiated by Monaco resident Dani Carew to highlight the contributions Grace Kelly made, and continues to make through her foundation, to support emerging artists.

Attendees were able to learn more about the different roles, challenges, and achievements of women in film during a panel discussion with Cecilia Peck and Princess Grace Award winners, filmmaker, Susan Youssef and screenwriter/playwright Bridget Carpenter moderated by filmmaker Daniela Amavia.

Closing the weekend, a screening of Cecilia Peck’s film Brave Miss World in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco was followed by an important Q&A with the filmmaker and Linor Abargil, Miss Universe 1998, upon whom the film was based.

» I was 18 years old when I became Miss Israel in March of 1998, and was sent to represent my country in the Miss World Competition. A month and a half before the contest, while I was modeling in Italy, I was brutally raped by an Israeli travel agent, and in November of that year, the world saw me cry onstage in the Seychelles Islands when I was crowned Miss World ».
