The detail from the Martyrs' Window shows the martyrdom of St Maurice. He was beheaded with all his soldiers because he and his crew, which consisted of Christians, refused to perform idolatry. A mourning woman supports his upper body

Object history The window was designed by Jósef Mehoffer.The leaded glass window was executed by the Freiburg stained glass studio Kirsch & Fleckner, which presented the window at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900, where it was awarded a gold medal.
