Summary
| Description |
English: Things have changed at Buxted - all trains now use the old down platform, the up platform is out of use (the track has been lifted), and the 1893 footbridge has been dismantled and relocated to Templecombe, Somerset. DEMU 207004 departs for Crowborough and London and most of the route as far north as Oxted is now single track.
"Thumper" 207004 was built in 1962, refurbished in 1991 as 207101 and named Ashford Fayre, refurbished again in 1995 for Connex as 207201, finally withdrawn in 2003 and scrapped. Photo: Dick Gilbert, Buxted, Sussex, 9 April 1990. |
