Summary

Description
English: A proposed flag for Oregon, designed by Jaymes Walker. One of the ten finalists in the 2008 contest (in which it was labelled "Flag D") held by The Oregonian newspaper to try and create a new flag for the state. The "O" stands for the name of Oregon. The incoming stripes at the top and bottom frame the letter, symbolising strength and solidarity. The blue represents the Pacific Ocean off the coast of western Oregon, while the yellow represents the high desert and wheat fields of eastern Oregon. Blue and gold are also the official Oregonian state colours.
