DescriptionFlag of Oregon proposal (T.J. Borzner).svg
English: A proposed flag for Oregon, designed by T.J. Borzner. One of the ten finalists in the 2008 contest (in which it was labelled "Flag F") held by The Oregonian newspaper to try and create a new flag for the state. Green represents growth and productivity, in addition to the farms, forests and vineyards of Oregon. The red stripes represent hydroelectric and geothermal energy, as well as the energy of Oregon's workers, ranchers and immigrants. The gold salmon icon (drawn in the style of Native American rock art) symbolises great value and quality of life. Additionally, with the stripes positioned vertically on both sides of the salmon, they represent not only how its path can be blocked, but also how it can be impelled forward.
