Description
English: Harpoon called unaaq in the Inuktitut language. Traditional throwing weapon in the Inuit culture; found from Greenland to Alaska.
Description: Originally a float (avataq) was at the end of the leather line, which held the head of the spear whose tip is metal. A wooden spear-thrower was associated with this type of weapon, which could have a range of 9 metres. Two views of the same object.

Français : Harpon appelé unaaq en langue Inuktitut. Arme de jet traditionnelle dans la culture des Inuit que l'on retrouve du Groenland à l'Alaska.
Description : A l'origine un flotteur (avataq) se trouvait à l'extrémité de la ligne de cuir qui maintenait la tête du harpon dont la pointe est en métal. Un propulseur en bois était associé à ce type d'arme elle pouvait avoir une portée de 9 mètres. Deux vues du même objet.
