Deutsch: Sogenannte Rattenschwanzlarve einer Schwebfliege aus der Tribus Eristalini, wohl aus der Gattung Eristalis oder Helophilus. Rattenschwanzlarven findet man oft in großer Zahl in faulem oder unbewegtem Wasser oder auch in feuchten Exkrementen. Der "Rattenschwanz" ist ein einziehbares und in der Länge variierbares Atemrohr.
English: So-called rattail-maggot, a larva of a hoverfly from the Tribe Eristalini, most probably from the genus Eristalis or Helophilus. These larvae can be found in great number in putrefied or stagnant water and also in wet excrements. The "tail" is a contractable snorkel with variable length.
