Manufacturers' nameplates on the front of CTP trolleybus 18, a 1962 Alfa Romeo 1000AF / Aerfer-UTVES / OCREN trolleybus, in 1985. The photo was taken while No. 18 was laying over at CTP's former Porta Capuana bus station (on Piazza San Francesco). Although CTP had begun to refurbish its trolleybuses by this date, including repainting from two-tone green to orange and removal of these builders' nameplates, No. 18 had not yet been refurbished. (The small label on the front - directed to CTP workers - reads "Attenzione: Non aprire lo sportello se non sono abbassate le aste-trolleys", which means "Caution: Do not open the door [this maintenance-access door on the front of the vehicle] if the trolley poles are not lowered" (i.e., poles taken out of contact with the electrified overhead wires).) |
