The source of the digital image gives, "All images are the property of the LuEsther T. Mertz Library of The New York Botanical Garden.", but this is incorrect. It is public domain ...

This is a faithful photographic reproduction of a two-dimensional, public domain work of art. The work of art itself is in the public domain for the following reason:
