Summary
DescriptionQueen Beech-geograph-2900758.jpg |
English: The Queen Beech (or Harry Potter tree). This pollarded beech, known as the "Queen Beech", is at least 350 years old. It was noted by the naturalist Richard Mabey in his book "Beechcombings". The area of Frithsden Beeches was a location for the Harry Potter films. According to the photographer this beech 'played' the Whomping Willow in The Prisoner of Azkaban. The same tree can be seen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in the scene where Harry Potter and his friends meet up with a schoolmate and his father on their way to the "Quidditch World Cup". |
