(1) Fair use for RMS Empress of Australia (1919): Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article because it shows an image of the subject of this article, especially before RMS Empress of Australia was sold and scrapped in Inverkeithing, May 8, 1952. AND (2) Fair user for Samuel Robinson (sea captain): The captain of RMS Empress of Australia earned international acclaim and recognition because the ship which was able to offer the most help in evacuating the devastated metropolis of Tokyo after the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake. In the chaos, Robinson kept his ship in Tokyo Bay for 12 days. Captain and his ship became a front page story in The Times (London) and The New York Times. This image clarifies (A) a difficult-to-grasp story; and (B) the many multi-national honors and decorations bestowed on Robinson afterwards. |
