Motorcycle gang ranks?

[edit]

OK, so there seems to be a parallel between Aces & 8s and a motorcycle gang, based on their looks. But they all have patches that say "Prospect." Since when do Prospects speak for the club?

Is there some reason it can't be named who's in the group? You can clearly see who some of them actually are even on TV. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.132.134.44 (talk) 12:29, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Titles

[edit]

If Devon was part of Aces & 8s, must we include his TV Title regin to the article? --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 21:47, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, because that happened before this angle started. If he happens to win it back now, then that should be noted. InedibleHulk (talk) 15:35, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this be titled "Aces & Eights"?

[edit]

Most references used in the article spell it out. WP:COMMONNAME applies here. Per MOS:NUMBERS#Numbers as figures or words, there should be consistency with spelled numbers and numerals. We could change it to "1s and 8s", but that looks stupid. Objections? InedibleHulk (talk) 15:46, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, does anyone ever call them "The Aces and Eights" on TV? I mostly just watch PPVs, and nobody seems to there. InedibleHulk (talk) 15:49, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I moved it. I figure it's straightforward and uncontroversial enough. InedibleHulk (talk) 18:40, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

TNA themselves tend to use "Aces & 8s" ([1]) but it's not really an important distinction. McPhail (talk) 18:45, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Here they use "8s" in the title, but "Eights" throughout the article. InedibleHulk (talk) 18:50, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ball-peen hammer, eh?

[edit]

In other words, did several members beat Sting with a hammer, or did several members beat Sting, and one beat him with a hammer? I didn't see the episode, but it seems silly to picture them passing the hammer around. Of course, TNA is sometimes silly. Clarification? InedibleHulk (talk) 23:19, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I just watched Turning Point and answered my own question. I've clarified that DOC did the hammering. InedibleHulk (talk) 00:02, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Aces & Eights

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Aces & Eights's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "TNA":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 20:59, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ivelisse Velez

[edit]

Shouldn't Ivelisse Be listed as a member or at least an associate, since she served as Part of team Aces & Eights at TNA World cup of wrestling Show? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.29.145.154 (talk) 20:11, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Former Members

[edit]

Someone has put under former members "Mike". Can somebody change that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.112.113.145 (talk) 09:03, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Two sources call him member. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 13:05, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
"Mike" might not have been a known wrestler, or have appeared since, but he was undeniably presented as a member of the Aces & Eights during his appearance, so he should be listed. It's comparable to the actor who played The Commandant in The Truth Commission. McPhail (talk) 19:03, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That makes sense to me. InedibleHulk (talk) 19:14, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Two more questions. Is Ivelisse Velez a former member? She wrestled as part of A&8 at One Night Only. 2, Does somebody know Mike's identity? --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 22:29, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
One Night Only PPVs are non-canon, like a Treehouse of Horror, so I'd say wait for her to show up on Impact. No clue about Mike. I haven't even seen the guy. I mainly just watch PPVs. InedibleHulk (talk) 23:36, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Let's wait for the World Cup One Night Only PPV to air in November 2013 before considering Ivelisse. Starship.paint (talk) 02:05, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the PWMania to a more reliable PWInsider link, and reworded the content in the History. Starship.paint (talk) 02:00, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
