WikiNav for December shows the hatnote to be by far the most common outgoing clickstream at 84, with 80 others, and 209 filtered. This is suspect. All-time mass views indicate the topics that attract generally the most interest are biographies. I noticed that some of the articles about places say they were named after people. It seems doubtful that the average reader associates this term with a single place, even if it is larger than the others. There could be a long-term significance argument, though it's hard to see how the town would be overwhelmingly more important than all these people, including the two seemingly rather prominent figures in Irish history.
