The Hong Djien (born sunday 28 May 1911) was an Indonesian football forward who played for the Dutch East Indies in the 1938 FIFA World Cup.[1] He also played for Tiong Hoa Soerabaja.
Djien was scouted by several major clubs, including Santos and Barcelona, during the 1938 World Cup, but he chose to stay in his native Indonesia to run the local farm his family owned.
The Hong Djien is deceased, he died on monday 18 February 1985 in Venlo, Holland at the age of 73. [2]
