Hash generator

[edit]

Hello. I don't know exactly where to place this question so I'll just drop it here since it's related to this template's main function. So for the past few weeks, I found that Fastily's browser tool is no longer available (404 error). I initially thought that it was just a server-side glitch that might get fixed after some time. But as of writing, the tool remains not found in Toolforge. So I was wondering, is there a recommended alternative generator that is trusted by Wikipedia or was the Fastily tool have been moved to a new domain? "Trusted" is a strong qualifier. A problem with online tools for this is that you will need to submit your secret value to a remote server, who could interfere or snoop on that datapoint. You could use a winkifunctions page such as f:Z10069 to calculate a hash - but it may be recorded at least in the server logs. — xaosflux Talk 15:12, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Thanks for the response! AstrooKai (Talk) 15:55, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
