Bot for next NPP drive

[edit]

Hello Tol, Hope you are doing well. We are organising an NPP drive in May, so if you have some time and would like to use your bot for updating the leaderboard, I would really appreciate it. Although I am free and can run my bot, this task originally belongs to you, so I would prefer if you could run TolBot for this drive. I am also pinging Novem and Josh to confirm whether this will be a combo drive or only for articles. – DreamRimmer (talk) 12:48, 19 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Let's do articles only. Thanks for checking! –Novem Linguae (talk) 20:03, 19 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'd be glad to help out with this, @DreamRimmer. I'll work on setup within a few days. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 23:33, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done! I've set up the bot for the run and plan to start running it 1–2 days before the drive starts. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 04:18, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks :) – DreamRimmer (talk) 14:34, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from BobbleObill (11:37, 21 April 2025)

[edit]

Hello🙂 how do I make a article --BobbleObill (talk) 11:37, 21 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @BobbleObill; welcome to Wikipedia! There's some information on writing new articles at Help:Your first article. I would recommend starting out by editing existing articles, though, as writing a new one from scratch can be challenging. Please let me know if you have any further questions! Tol (talk | contribs) @ 15:07, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Tol I just want to make an article about one of my favourite YouTubers BobbleObill (talk) 11:18, 23 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No worries; feel free to ask if you'd like any help or feedback. Also, you may want to read the notability guideline, to ensure that the subject is notable by Wikipedia's standards and eligible for an article. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 04:07, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks BobbleObill (talk) 04:09, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I went on to Help:your first article but it didn’t show me how to actually MAKE an article. So I don’t know what to do. Please help me :) -Bobble BobbleObill (talk) 12:58, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@BobbleObill, the page contains all of the information on how to write and publish a draft. If you've read all of § Before you start writing, including the relevant links, the section below links to the article wizard, which walks you through the steps of actually creating a draft. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 00:51, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thank you for that tip :) BobbleObill (talk) 12:14, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Can you also keep a look out for my talk page because I write messages there. So please keep an eye out :) happy editing BobbleObill (talk) 12:23, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a way to follow someone on Wikipedia? BobbleObill (talk) 12:37, 2 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Michael Elleray on History of sound recording (21:15, 21 April 2025)

[edit]

Who will write my book --Michael Elleray (talk) 21:15, 21 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Michael Elleray; welcome to Wikipedia! I'm not sure exactly what you're asking — Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia; if you're trying to find help writing a book, we won't really be able to assist. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 15:11, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Kaoslobster on Shoe4Africa Children's Hospital (18:05, 22 April 2025)

[edit]

Hello :) Thank you for being willing to help me learn! This article's source 15 was published a year before the occurrence of what it's suppose to evidence. My first impulse was to remove it but I don't know what good practice is. --Kaoslobster (talk) 18:05, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Kaoslobster; welcome to Wikipedia! If you're referring to the Kahenda (2022) news article, it seems like the article is stating that they planned to construct it, so this wouldn't be unexpected — if there are better references, though, you're welcome to use them instead.
