Due to station being reconstructed, both the service and line route maps only show an approximate location for these station (This will be updated upon completion of the stations when an official distance is listed). Also the journey times on the service map after the reconstructed stations are only approximates (There may be changes to this after they are reconstructed).
@HoHo3143, What order are you are planning to do the V/Line services in? I'll work out the various necessary lines that are involved and the order to best order to do them (eg: Serviceton Line will be better to save until doing Ararat Service) and what line each service is actually on (eg: Bendigo Service is Deniliquin Line). --ThylacineHunter (talk) 11:40, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm planning on doing the order listed in this table here. It's basically a reverse of the order which I did the metro services. Also question- did I get it right about the lines that the service uses? HoHo3143 (talk) 11:51, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I wanted to just double check the order. As for the lines used, I'm 99% sure what I originally listed is correct, but I'll double check as I get to each one (who knows, there may be a surprise I didn't know about)
@ThylacineHunter thank you. Are you able to do the stopping patterns so I know wether or not Warrnambool services stop at certain stations? This would allow me to finish the stations bit and move on to other areas like accessibility and rolling stock whilst I wait for you to finish your other project. HoHo3143 (talk) 12:34, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@HoHo3143, Warrnambool stopping pattern & service infobox are done. Take special note with VLine services of the "Predecessor" list, most services had 'special names' (particularly in the 1980's). -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 00:31, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter I have almost finished the Warrnambool article- I just need to add some images. Can you please have a look over the article to check for spelling, grammar, and accuracy of information? As most of this information will be copied to other pages (eg the accessibility or rolling stock) I want to make sure that it correct and error free. Also sorry this has taken a while- I've been busy with school recently. Let me know once you've reviewed it and ill add images and submit. HoHo3143 (talk) 11:30, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter apologies for the lack of action over the past few weeks. For the next week I have my school exams so I won't be working on the current projects. I'll let you know once they've finished so I can continue on. HoHo3143 (talk) 04:38, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter ok so I've set up the Albury service page to be rebuilt. Once you say that the Warrnambool service is finished, I'll nominate it and start working on the next one. HoHo3143 (talk) 12:27, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter thanks for making the North East standard gauge railway line article. I am going to make a quick layout guide for track pages so they are uniform with one another. I'll let you know soon once I've finished it. HoHo3143 (talk) 08:00, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter just to give u the heads up I won't be able to work on wikipedia for the next few days as I will be travelling back to Australia from Europe (so a lot of travelling with no internet connection). I'll make sure to work on them once ive returned home. HoHo3143 (talk) 07:53, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@HoHo3143, I've reworked Template:Table Age Calculator ("TAC2" for short) to handle "incumbent" as a 4th (end date) variable to allow its use for the operators table. This will auto calculate the value for the Age/Length of operations column and also has the ability of making the table sortable. I originally had just thought it would be helpful on the station history tables, but with the update for "incumbent", it's now more versatile and can be included on the operators table. I'll go back at some point and incorporate this into the already finished pages.
I also included full dates on the operators table as North East railway line#Operators was a little confusing with just years. --ThylacineHunter (talk) 12:58, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter thanks for doing this and apologies for the late reply. Question- what type of signalling is used on the Albury Line? Also, you'll need to start your elements of the article when you can as I'm making decent progress. HoHo3143 (talk) 11:25, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@HoHo3143, I have a few missing bit of info, I'm waiting on a copy of "Six And A Half Inches From Destiny" (I thought it would arrive by last week but it didn't, hopefully early next week), to check these.
Signaling: I believe it falls under ARTC network which use "Centralised Traffic Control (CTC)"
@ThylacineHunter hopefully that book has arrived so you can finish your aspects of the Albury line. I'd like you to get this done sometime soon so once I've finished acting on GA feedback for the 4 articles that are open I can go back to working on the article. HoHo3143 (talk) 12:20, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm hoping to find the time over the coming week to continue with this. Unfortunately when the book arrived, I wasn't able to focus too much time on here due to one of my parents going into hospital for a mild heart issue and then further complications while in hospital (out now, but still some slight issues that I need to spend time with them). -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 03:00, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Albury V/Line rail service is just waiting on stopping patterns, service map, and journey time (all require me to sit down with the timetable).
North East standard gauge railway line is waiting on the track map (just need to finish the city side of the Maribyrnong River and check distances) and a few little bit on it's infobox.
Hi @ThylacineHunter. As the month of august has now finished, the number of GA reviews that I will be acting on will dry up. Currently I have one left to finish acting upon. So looking forward from here. Could you please finish all of your elements for the Albury V/Line rail service article as soon as possible. Once ive finished acting on the GA feedback, I'd like to finish working on this article and nominate it. Once this has been completed, I will be going back and fixing a few issues with a few GA nominations that have been failed and ones that I have purposefully taken down. Once I have finished fixing these articles, I will continue the project of rebuilding the V/Line service articles.
If you are still unable to complete this, let me know and I'll adjust what I will do. If you can't that's ok, but I'd like to finish up the Albury line, then fix the other articles, before moving back through the other V/Line articles that need rebuilding. Let me know what you think. HoHo3143 (talk) 07:23, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately my health and then my parents health got in the way with me having the time to edit Wikipedia. Things have settled down enough that I'm hoping to be able put aside regular time for Wikipedia. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 04:07, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @ThylacineHunter. I'm glad you are able to come back now. I hope that everything with both your health and your parents has been ok. Currently, I am completing Year 12 so have had very little time for anything, especially Wikipedia. I have continued to make minor edits to the LXRP page, including marking completed removals and other updates to the project. This has however been the extent of my edits. For the remainder of the year, I will only be making very small contributions to wikipedia due to time constraints, so anything that we used to work on I won't be able to be apart of. I am still available to answer messages and contribute my opinion if needed so feel free to reach out. HoHo3143 (talk) 08:10, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough... it will be 5-6 months though before I have any time (at a minimum). Whilst you wait I look forward to seeing what you'll work on (and go ahead with this rail stuff... you don't have to wait) HoHo3143 (talk) 12:52, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to rename an article, you need to follow the moving a page process. You can’t just copy and paste text from other to the other as you did at with the Gippsland railway line. I am guessing you may have tried and moved it this way but been blocked by a system control. This may have been because the article was moved in 2019 after a reuested move discussion and may have been locked from further non-administrator moves as part of this. Should you wish to have the article renamed, you will need to gain a consensus to override the 2019 discussion via a new reuested move. Bagufleat (talk) 03:35, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter: In case you're unaware of how it works, you can ask for a technical move at WP:RMT. Someone with the page mover permission will move it on your behalf if they determine that it isn't controversial. Otherwise, go through the usual page move request process, a page mover will still complete the move 7 days after the request was opened if consensus is to move. Fork99 (talk) 05:28, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the reason why you can't just delete a page like that is because it fragments the edit history of the article. All edits/text on Wikipedia need to be copyright attributable to particular editors. Fork99 (talk) 05:42, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly you are most welcome to ignore me, but the leaving transport-importance=low, as whatever it is leaving it off is something that doesnt fit, no big deal... Hey - keep up the good work anyways JarrahTree12:56, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't feel qualified enough to decide on article importance, other than the retagging of the Aus Transport top-importance. I feel these are justified being top-importance:
Department of Transport for each state
Articles titled "[transport type] in Australia"
Articles titled "Transport for [state/capital]"
The overall transport company per state (Public Transport Victoria, Adelaide Metro, Transperth, Transport for NSW)
The 2 biggest airports (Sydney, Melbourne)
The 3 biggest stations (Central, Flinders Street, Southern Cross) due to amount of services
Sydney Harbour Bridge (as a vital article and it's iconic status) - Should we include also include the other vital articles? Indian Pacific, Qantas, Sydney Metro, Trans-Australian Railway
my apologies for my poorly expressed message and your thorough reply - I tend to do everything default to low importance - and I havent really considered the field of vital articles and their context as transport items... The way you have listed the items - it looks like a reasonable argument for the situating of the items... JarrahTree14:51, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter currently 3 of my rebuilt articles (Belgrave, Lilydale, and Frankston) are being reviewed for GA status. They all go by ...railway line whereas other articles have been changed to ...line. As these should be consistent, what should we do? This would be the right time now as they are being reviewed currently so its definitely becoming urgent. HoHo3143 (talk) 04:19, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have seen your slaughter of loco lists - I was very disappointed to see that, but now have neither the time or capacity to have an in public discussion about it... anyway keep up the good work!! My response time now might be weeks or days - please do not ping me or whatever... JarrahTree04:31, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

Hi ThylacineHunter, I have recently joined WikiProject Bendigo and I am currently recruiting more editors to join also. I can see that you are a regular editor of Victorian-related articles, and also a participant in WikiProject Melbourne, so I was wondering whether you might be interested in joining the project, as there are still a number of Bendigo articles that need improvement. Please let me know what you think. All the best, Lotsw73 (talk) 12:51, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for your concern...the difference between renaming Serviceton -> Ararat, vs all the other non-existent lines in Victoria, is that the Ararat line is still in use, it's the same as the Port Fairy line article getting renamed to Warrnambool since that's where it now ends.
I noticed that you tend to make very long and detailed arguments at these sorts of RMs - please keep in mind that the page mover who has to read everything is likely not a rail enthusiast. I'm a rail enthusiast and I don't want to sit there and read a wall of text.
Please try and keep your comments as succinct/concise as possible, it makes understanding what the consensus is easier for the mover and for everyone else involved in the RM. Cheers, Fork99 (talk) 21:34, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't mind, I'd like to withdraw the V/Line moves you proposed a make a single one so they can be discussed as a group. I think the targets need to be different as well; all of your proposed titles (such as Albury line) are ambiguous. Albury line (service) would be a better choice. Mackensen(talk)11:49, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Mackensen I'm happy for them to be combined (I wasn't sure how to do that).
