Or just write "it"
[edit]When the sentence requires a grammatical subject, just writing the title, or "it", is often simplest:
- Sonic Mania homages the original Sega Genesis Sonic games.
The gameIt won several awards.
- Flotilla is a 2010 video game developed and published by Blendo Games.
The gameIt was released in March 2010 on Steam for Windows and on Xbox Live Indie Games for the Xbox 360. - During the 2022 D23 Expo Presentation, it was announced that Snow White would be released in 2024. However, in October 2023,
the filmit was delayed to March 21, 2025.
Overuse of "the game", "the film" and "the album" often comes from a desire to avoid repetition. Resist! If your sentence feels repetitive without playing musical chairs with your nouns, you probably have bigger problems to fix. See Wikipedia: The problem with elegant variation.
Of course, the same applies...
[edit]... to almost any subject, whether you're writing about a song ("the song"), an airport ("the airport"), a war ("the war"), etc. But you get the point.
