Notability criteria

[edit]

Although there are no top women's leagues expressly included in WikiProject Hockey's notability guideline: WP:NHOCKEY, there is often enough media coverage about a player, team, or league to meet the WP:GNG guideline, which takes precedence over WP:NHOCKEY. For college athletes and coaches, see WP:NCOLLATH. For youth, see WP:YOUNGATH. For Olympians, see WP:NOLYMPICS.

The key to ensuring that an article that you create is not deleted is providing adequate referencing to meet WP:GNG or WP:SPORTCRIT.

  • Make sure the article talk page is tagged with {{WikiProject Women's sport|icehockey=yes}}, so that other editors can further improve the article or contribute to an Articles for deletion (AfD) discussion, if needed.

If you have any questions or run into any issues, feel free to post them on the project's talk page.

Assessment

[edit]

Any member of the Women's Ice Hockey Task Force may assess ice hockey-related articles by following the guidelines below. If you aren't sure about an article, ask about it on the WikiProject Women's Sport assessment talk page.

An article's quality assessment is recorded using the |class= parameter in the {{WikiProject banner shell}}. Articles that have the {{WikiProject Women's sport}} banner template on their talk page will be added to the appropriate categories by quality.

The following standard grades may be used to describe the quality of mainspace articles (see Wikipedia:Content assessment for assessment criteria):

An article's importance assessment is generated from the importance parameter in the {{WikiProject Women's sport}} project banner on its talk page:

{{WikiProject Women's sport|importance=???}}

The following values may be used for the importance parameter to describe the relative importance of the article within the project (see Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Priority of topic for assessment criteria):
