Bholari or Bolhari
[edit]Are Bholari and Bolhari same settlements in Jamshoro District of Sindh province? (the latter is the only redlink in List of cities in Pakistan, comes from PBS census file) Other articles using the former spelling intitle include PAF Base Bholari (with sources for Bholari) and Bholari railway station (with empty ref section). Pinged a user, Crosji. Thanks for the time. MŠLQr (talk) 06:42, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for flagging this, @MSLQr. You are absolutely right to raise the distinction. Bholari, located in Jamshoro District, is a known settlement with established infrastructure, including a railway station. In contrast, "Bolhari" appears, at least on Google Maps, to be a location in Badin District, near the border with Gujarat, India. However, I wasn't able to find much credible information about this second location, suggesting it may not be an actual settlement in the conventional sense, but perhaps a geographic label or minor locality. Crosji (talk) 10:18, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- Crosji, yes on that same day, I did the "Bolhari" search on the Google Maps and it took me near the border. What I noticed is the latter spelling only found in the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics census file (hope you checked it) and it lists it in Kotri Tehsil under the Jamshoro District. If Bholari has well established infrastructure with a railway station, it must have been a part of the population census. This may be a case of alternative spelling and pronunciation. In the meantime, Umartoor, a user who was already contributing to the list, has changed the spelling in List of cities in Pakistan by population from "Bolhari" to "Bholari" and they added the figures in the article, Bholari.
