General elections were held in Liechtenstein on 25 March 1962. The Progressive Citizens' Party won eight of the 15 seats in the Landtag, but remained in coalition with the Patriotic Union. This was the first election contested by the Christian Social Party.

Electoral system

The 15 members of the Landtag were elected by open list proportional representation from two constituencies, Oberland with 9 seats and Unterland with 6 seats. Only parties and lists with more than 18% of the votes cast in each constituency were eligible to win seats in the Landtag. The election used a majority clause, where the party with the most votes also received the most seats. Only males were eligible to vote.
