The Yalengga Raid was a military raid conducted by Kopassus with objective eliminate and defeat the OPM on Jayawijaya Regency and also halted the OPM attacks on Wamena, the raid resulted in killing the most wanted OPM commander Yustinus Murib and seizure of most of the OPM's weapons and documents.[1]

On 6 November 2003 at 5 AM Indonesian forces led by Colonel Gustav Agus Irianto attacked Yalengga district, Jayawijaya Regency.[2][3] The Indonesian forces blockaded the Yalengga district and forced the OPM companies to retreated, however the Indonesian forces was success to suppresed the OPM attacks to Wamena.[4] Estimated 50-60 Indonesian personnel stormed the OPM headquarters at Kwiyage. The Indonesians killed theOPM leader(Yustinus Murib), and capturing OPM weaponry and the OPM documents about the plan of assaults on Wamena.[5]

After the raid, the body of Yustinus Murib was beheaded and displaced his head as the trophy. The Indonesian government claimed the raid was an retaliation of the OPM attack through the civilians around Wamena. After the raid, OPM forces continued to retreated before the Indonesian military forces conducting an military action again.[6][7][8][9]
