Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine is a restaurant located in Houston, Texas, known for its Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. It was founded in 2006 by Ali Nahhas.[1]

History

[edit]

Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine was established in 2006 by Ali Nahhas as a fast-casual, family-owned restaurant in the Montrose District of Houston. The original location, situated on Westheimer Road, features a cafeteria-style service model known as "Build Your Plate" (BYOP), allowing diners to mix and match items from categories such as dips, salads, hot vegetables, kebabs, and baked entrees.[2]

In 2018, the restaurant expanded with a second location in Garden Oaks on West 34th Street, broadening its reach.[3] Both locations are recognized for their fresh pita bread baked in-house, along with Halal-certified meats and vegan-friendly options.[4][5]

Reception

[edit]

Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine has received positive feedback for its quality and flavor of dishes. Its hummus, shawarma, falafel, and signature garlic sauce have earned acclaim from both casual diners and food critics. The restaurant's fresh-baked pita bread is particularly notable and frequently highlighted in reviews.[6]

Aladdin serves both dine-in and take-out customers.[7] It has been featured in local publications, with its Garden Oaks location praised for bringing Mediterranean flavors to a growing neighborhood.[8]
