BitMart is a global digital asset trading platform that focuses on cryptocurrency trading. Founded in 2017[1] (available to the public in 2018), the platform supports over 1,400 cryptocurrencies and tokens. BitMart is registered in the Republic of Seychelles and operates in 180 countries.[2][3][4]
History
[edit]BitMart was founded in 2017 and specializes in providing tools for buying, selling, and trading to individuals and institutions.[5] Public operations began in 2018 when BitMart was first registered with FinCEN[6] and introduced credit/debit card deposit services through third-party partners, enabling fiat deposits.[7]
In 2020 the platform introduced BitMart lending and futures trading available in certain regions. The same year, it reached 1 million registered users with a daily trading volume of $2 billion.[8][9]
BitMart completed a Series B fundraising round led by the New York-based private equity firm Alexander Capital Ventures in November 2021.[10][11]
By 2022 it launched Margin Trading and NFT Marketplace followed by Inscriptions Market in 2023. In 2023, BitMart was named "Best Cryptocurrency Exchange Global" by International Business Magazine[12][13][14] and "The Most Trusted Trading Platform" by Crypto 306[15][16] and was listed in CNBC’s top 200 global fintech companies.[17] It was also named "Best for Altcoins" by Investopedia in 2022,[18][19] 2023,[20] and 2024.[21]
The platform was named Best Crypto Exchange for Altcoins by Investopedia in 2024.[22] BitMart launched a peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace.[23]
Overview
[edit]BitMart is registered in the Republic of Seychelles and operates in 180 countries.[24] It has over 1,400 trading pairs and 1,200 tokens listed with 2.5 billion daily trading volume. It provides tools for buying, selling, and storing cryptocurrency through the web-based digital asset trading and investing platform and a mobile app for Android and iOS.[25] Its services include a peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace, which connects buyers and sellers with varying exchange rates and payment options.[26] It is ranked among the top crypto exchanges on CoinGecko.[27]
BitMart provides cryptocurrency services, including spot and margin trading, which allow users to trade a variety of cryptocurrencies and trading pairs.
BitMart uses a hybrid hot and cold wallet system and multi-signature technologies as part of its security framework.[28]
