build3 is an India-based impact startup studio that supports early-stage entrepreneurs through education, funding, and community.[1] Founded in 2020, build3 operates[2] from a beachside campus in Candolim, Goa, and offers programs including an accelerator, startup studio, a co-living coworking hub, and thematic retreats. The studio combines training, mentorship, and early-stage capital to help founders build scalable ventures in health, sustainability, and wellbeing sectors.[3]
History and formation
[edit]build3 was founded in August 2020 in Candolim, Goa, as an initiative focused on early-stage entrepreneurship. Its activities include providing funding, peer-based collaboration, and training programs. The organization references practices from self-managed teams and collaborative work models.
In March 2021, it launched a startup studio program and supported its first venture, Ruby's Coffee. By December 2021, other ventures such as That Lifestyle Coach and Oneboard Experience had joined the program.
Between 2022 and 2023, build3 introduced a startup-investor syndication initiative and partnered with NomadGao to offer shared workspace infrastructure. The syndication initiative was developed with Invstt. In June 2023, the organization was certified as a B Corporation.[4]
Programs and initiatives
[edit]Impact Accelerator
[edit]Launched in 2023, the build3 Impact Accelerator (biA) is a 10-week hybrid program focused on early-stage ventures working in areas related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).[5] The program includes pre-seed funding of up to ₹25 lakh, mentorship opportunities, and operational resources.[6][7]
Cohub
[edit]Cohub is a co-working and co-living facility operated by build3 in Goa. It includes shared workspaces, short-term lodging, and wellness-related activities. The site has been used for events such as Ayurveda workshops, cryptocurrency sessions, yoga classes, drum circles, and musical performances, some of which are organized in partnership with external groups.
Ecoashram
[edit]The Ecoashram is a 30-acre ecovillage project under development near the Maharashtra–Goa border. The site incorporates practices such as permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and waste reduction. Planned uses for the space include residential accommodations, farming, educational activities, and retreats, with a focus on entrepreneurship and sustainability.[8]
Impact Startup Academy
[edit]The Impact Startup Academy is a five-week virtual program for early-stage entrepreneurs. Its curriculum covers topics such as developing minimum viable products (MVPs), measuring social and environmental impact, and applying lean startup methodologies. The program includes sessions with entrepreneurs who provide guidance and feedback.
Partnerships and recognition
[edit]- Certified as a B Corporation in 2023 for its verified standards of social and environmental responsibility.[9]
- Selected under the Government of India's Startup India Seed Fund Scheme in 2024.[10][11][12]
- Awarded the Flourish Prize for contributions to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
- Named Best Startup Enabler by Business Goa magazine in April 2025.[13]
