Category:Queens regnant in Asia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Queens regnant in Asia, female monarchs, equivalent in rank, title and position to kings. They reign suo jure (in their own right) over realms known as kingdoms; as opposed to queens consort, who are married to reigning kings; or queens regent, who are the guardians of child monarchs and rule pro tempore in the children's stead or instead of their husbands who are absent from the realm, be it de jure in sharing power or de facto in ruling alone. Queens regnant are sometimes called women kings.
