Clotilde Mafleuroy (1 March 1776 – 15 December 1826), known professionally as Clotilde, was an 18th century French ballet dancer who performed as a principal dancer at the Opéra de Paris.

Clotilde Auguste Mafleuroy was born on 1 March 1776 in Paris, France.[2]

Entertainment life

Studying in Paris, she was a pupil of Pierre Gardel.[3] Known by her first name on stage, she advanced to the position of principal dancer at the Opéra de Paris, a role she held alongside Mlle Chevigny.[4] Clotilde's debut at the Opéra de Paris took place in 1793 with Pierre Gardel's Le Jugement de Pâris.[2]

She married French composer François-Adrien Boieldieu on 19 March 1802.[5][6] Soon after, her husband left for St. Petersburg, Russia to fulfill Czar Alexander's offer of composing three operas per year.[7]

Death

Clotilde Mafleuroy died in Paris, France on 15 December 1826.[8]
