AS-PL - a Polish enterprise based in Gdansk, dealing in the production and distribution of alternators and starters.

History

[edit]

AS-PL Sp. z o.o. was founded in 1992 in Gdańsk, Poland, initially under the name Auto-Starter. The company began by supplying alternators, starters, and their components for the automotive aftermarket.

In 2004, it rebranded to AS-PL as part of its international expansion strategy.

In 2016, AS-PL opened a Production Plant in Lubichowo.

Currently, the company is the largest supplier of alternators and starters in Poland and one of the leaders on the worldwide aftermarket.

Today, AS-PL is recognized as a leading European supplier of electrical system components for vehicles, offering over 20,000 products and serving clients worldwide.[1]

Activities

[edit]

The company's products are exported to over 100 countries around the world. In 2024, this achievement was recognized by the jury of the "Economic Griffin Award" (polish name: Gryf Gospodarczy) competition, awarding the company the main prize in the Export category.

Currently, in addition to its Headquarters (Gdańsk) and Production Plant (Lubichowo), the company operates three international branches (Italy, Spain, and the UK), each equipped with warehouses and office space, totaling 20,000 m².

Company representatives can be found at many of the most important automotive trade fairs, including Automechanika Frankfurt, Autopromotec Bologna, Motortec Madrid, Automechanika Birmingham, WAAS Nigeria, Automechanika Dubai, INAA PACE Mexico, and many more.

AS-PL is also deeply committed to charitable activities. During the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, the company donated PLN 100,000 to the Polish Center for International Aid Foundation (Polskie Centrum Pomocy Międzynarodowej) and organized a collection of essential goods, which were sent to the war-affected areas.

In 2024, following the floods in southern Poland, AS-PL donated PLN 50,000 to the siepomaga.pl foundation, along with tools that helped clean and restore the affected areas.

Additionally, in cooperation with DKMS, the company has organized a Bone Marrow Donor Day at its premises twice, during which employees registered in the bone marrow donor database to support potential recipients in need.
