The Ahmed Al-Assir Brigade is a Sunni Jihadist group loyal to Ahmed al-Assir.[2] The organization calls for the release of Al-Assir, the overthrow of "the despicable sectarian regime" in Lebanon, and the establishment of an Islamic State in Lebanon.[3]
History
[edit]On May 24 2025, The group released a 3-minute video announcing its formation, vowing to confront what it described as "enemies" of Sunnis in Lebanon, specifically naming Hezbollah and Israel. It declared plans to expand operations across the Levant and claims to have active cells in Ain al-Hilweh, Sidon, Arsal, Baalbek, and Beirut.[4]
