Ajantha Peiris is the son of the late Don Vincent Peiris, known as “Vincent Master”, a renowned Sri Lankan vocalist and instrumentalist, and his father was a renowned vocalist, violinist and composer in the early days of Sri Lanka.
He was born in Kandy. He initially studied music with his father and was a student of Master Jinadasa and Master Vinitha Pallawala during his childhood. He studied Hindustani music in the first part, Praveshika and Parama under Ms. Nirmala Ranatunga, and in the middle and master examinations under Sanjeeth Nipun Prasantha Kuragama. He is currently a qualified Music Scholar at Navara Sangeet Vidyalaya (affiliated with Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyalaya, India).
He obtained his first degree (B,Sc) from the University of Ruhuna and his second degree (M.Sc- Computer Science) from the University of Colombo. In addition, he is a member of the British Computer Association and a member of the Computer Association of Sri Lanka. He has worked as a Software Engineer at ANCL (Lake House) and Commercial Bank and has also served as the Assistant General Manager of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC). He currently serves as the General Manager of Lanka Bell and Bell Solution, as a Director of Melsta Technology and as the Executive Director of BellVantage.
