Sir Alexander Iden (c. 1420 ― November 19, 1457) was the High Sheriff of Kent in 1456 as well as a custodian of Rochester Castle. He is most famously known for slaying Jack Cade, the leader of the 1450 rebellion.
Bibliography
[edit]Very little seems to be known on Alexander's early life as both his mother and father seem to be unknown. It is known by 1450 that he was married to Elizabeth Fiennes, the daughter of James Fiennes and widow of William Cromer. Both of which were killed in or near the Tower of London on July 4 of that year when Jack Cade's Rebellion broke out.
