Andray Fyodorovich Alexandov (Russian: Андрей Фёдорович Александров; May 30, 1935 – September 20, 2024) — was a Soviet and Russian physicist, specialist in plasma physics and physical electronics. Head of the Department of Physical Electronics of the Physics Faculty of Moscow State University. Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Honored Professor of Moscow State University (2001). Laureate of two USSR State Prizes.
Biography
[edit]A. Alexandov was born on May 30, 1935, in the Moscow.
In 1959 he graduated from the Physics Department of Moscow State University. In 1962, he completed his postgraduate studies at Moscow State University.
In 1965, he defended his PhD thesis, "Study of the Interaction of a Quasistationary Electric Field with a Flat Plasma Layer". In 1975, his doctoral thesis, "Physical Processes in High-Current Electric-Discharge Light Sources." In 1978, he was awarded the title of professor.
Since 1961, he has been working at the Physics Department of Moscow State University: assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor of the Department of General Physics. In 1986-2015 he was the head of the Department of Physical Electronics; since 2015, he has been a chief researcher.
