Antoine Nehme is a young football player, currently with the Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club U18 academy team[1] and Canada men's national under-17 soccer team.[2] Antoine who prefers to be called Tony is a dual Canadian/French national born February 2nd, 2008 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to a Canadian father and French-Jordanian mother.
He began playing football at 6 with esports academy in Dubai. His family relocated to Houston,Texas in August of 2017 where he joined the Houston Texans for two years before joining the Houston Dynamo youth in August 2019. During COVID his family relocated once again to his father's hometown of Montreal in April 2020 where Tony spent almost a full year away from the sport due to restrictions brought upon by COVID distancing guidelines. He returned to football in April 2021 when he joined Pierrefonds Soccer.
At Pierrefonds Soccer, Tony played in their PLSJQ U14 and U15 teams becoming a force in their attack often playing as winger, striker and occasionally attacking midfielder. His use of speed, aggression, game sense and clinical finishing allowed him to excel and earn the golden boot as top goal scorer in the PLSJQ U15 league for 2023. He was selected to represent the Lac St. Louis Region at Jeux du Quebec in July 2022 and then became a member of Team Quebec as a U14 and U15 player.
In April 2024 Tony made the switch to Lakeshore Soccer as a member of their U16 PLSJQ team. Due to his abilities, he was asked to play up with their U17 PLSJQ team where in the few months he spent with them was the teams top goal scorer. His performances with Team Quebec and Lakeshore had been getting attention from MLS clubs and in May 2024 he went on a trial with the Vancouver Whitecaps who asked him to join them for the 2024/25 season as a U18 player. In August of 2024 relocated from his home in Montreal to Vancouver, BC.
After getting settled in Vancouver Tony began to show consistency and impactful performances in particular at the Generation Adidas Cup in Tampa, Florida where he scored 6 goals in 7 games including a hattrick against Club Bolivar. He went on to become the Vancouver Whitecaps U18 player of the year and get a call up to the Canadian National Team U17 squad for friendlies in Albir in L'Alfàs del Pi, Spain from June 3rd to 7th 2025 against Morocco, Japan and the United states where he appeared in all three games.
On June 29th, 2025 Tony made his professional debut with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC2 home game against Real Monarchs coming on in the 83rd minute. He joined Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on their road trip to face Ventura County FC on July 3rd, 2025 but was an unused substitute.
