Arvind Kashyap is an Indian cinematographer primarily working in South Indian Cinema. Known for his work on films such as Bell Bottom(2019)[2], 777 Charlie (2022), Kantara[3] (2022),Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare (2023)[4] and Vilayath Buddha (2025)[5].He is a member of Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC).

Career

Arvind Kashyap began his career in the Kannada film industry as an assistant director on the movie Lucia (film).He debuted as a cinematographer with the movie Dayavittu Gamanisi . His breakthrough came with the 2019 film Bell Bottom (2019 film)[6],a period detective comedy thriller in which cinematography played an important role in setting the world and ambience of the movie.

He followed this with Kantara (2022), a critically and commercially successful action drama directed by Rishab Shetty. The film's forest sequences and mystical themes were brought to life through Kashyap’s lush and grounded camerawork.

In 2023, he worked on Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare[7] a found footage cinema-verite style comedy where his work played a very important role in the narrative.

Style and influences

Arvind Kashyap is known for his ability to blend naturalistic lighting with atmospheric composition. His cinematographic language often complements the emotional undercurrent of a narrative, using long takes, deep shadows, and evocative color grading.
