Azuka Akaeze, known professionally as Ay Zed is a Nigerian music producer known for his work in the Afrobeats genre. He has collaborated with several notable Nigerian artists and gained recognition for co-producing hit singles, including Kizz Daniel's "Twe Twe."
Career
[edit]Ay Zed began his professional career as a music producer after relocating to Lagos, Nigeria. He established himself in the Afrobeats scene and has worked with various mainstream Nigerian artists, including Kizz Daniel, Davido, Timaya, Flavour, Ajebo Hustlers, Cynthia Morgan, and Patoranking.[1]
In December 2023, Ay Zed co-produced the single "Twe Twe" by Kizz Daniel.[2] The song gained widespread popularity and received significant airplay. Following the release of its remix featuring Davido, the song saw further commercial success and charted prominently across streaming platforms.[3]
In recognition of his charting production work, Ay Zed was listed on the TurnTable "Top 100 Producers" chart in February 2024.[4]
He also contributed to Kizz Daniel’s 2023 album Maverick, co-producing tracks such as "Feran Mi" and "Feran You Two".[5] In 2024, he collaborated again with Kizz Daniel on the EP TZA (Thankz Alot), released as an appreciation project for fans.[6]
