Azersu Office Tower is a high-rise building in Baku . The building is designed to house the headquarters of the national operator of water resources of Azerbaijan .
History
The office building where "Azersu" OJSC currently operates is located on Moskva Avenue, near the 20 Yanvar metro station . This area is burdened with traffic jams. In addition, the company needs additional offices. Due to these conditions, it was decided to build a new, more spacious building on the vacant land of Heydar Aliyev Avenue, which is the main place for the realization of futuristic high-rise buildings in Baku and the business center of the capital. Since this avenue is mainly built with complex multi-storey architecture, it is important to choose a building design that can successfully combine with the rest of the building.
A tender was held among architectural firms to select the design of the new office building for Azersu OJSC. On August 9, 2012, the Korean company Heerim Architects won the tender, which proposed a building project in the shape of a drop of water in contact with a nearby skyscraper.
On March 15, 2013, another Korean company, Halla E & C, was selected as the developer. At the same time, Heerim Architects was awarded the opportunity to manage the construction itself (CM — construction management). In November 2013, the first floor of the Azersu office began to be visible through the fence of the construction site.
The implementation and construction of the project has been transferred to ALKE Inshaat Senayi ve Tijaret since 2016. Currently, the interior flooring and finishing works of the building are underway.
Project
The office building of "Azersu" OJSC is built in the shape of a drop of water and reflects the company's main activity and the proximity of the Caspian Sea. The cost of the project was 120 million US dollars. The construction budget was allocated from the state budget.
Location
The building is located on Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Baku , next to it is a larger facility proposed by Heerim Architects, the SOCAR Tower skyscraper.
Interesting facts
The 40-story skyscraper adjacent to the SOCAR Tower represents the movement of fire. Azersu Tower, in the form of a drop of water, not only reflects the nature of the company's staff, but also successfully combines with the fire theme of the neighboring building. Thus, on Heydar Aliyev Avenue, symbols of water and fire are located side by side in architectural forms.
