Baring Ventures is an international private equity firm founded by Michael Calvey and registered in Guernsey.[1][2]. Baring Ventures was launched after Michael Calvey and his partners divested all Russian assets and exited Russia permanently after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022 [3][4]
The transaction to split out the non-Russian assets was completed in April 2024 after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals, resulting in two independent companies: Baring Vostok, and Baring Ventures. Baring Vostok is owned and managed by the Russian management team, which took over the Russian assets.[5]. Baring Ventures, chaired by Michael Calvey, is a fully independent company that focuses on international investments outside of Russia. Baring Ventures holds assets valued at approximately $5.5 billion [2]
