Bert Hofhuis is a Dutch entrepreneur and founder based in London, United Kingdom, known for his work in later-life financial planning.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Hofhuis was born in the Netherlands and later studied in South Africa. He earned a diploma in agriculture from Cedara College of Agriculture in 1975, an advanced certificate in technical road transport from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a diploma in road transport from the University of Johannesburg.[2][3] He has also completed courses in mortgages, real estate development, and UK pensions.[4]
Career
[edit]Hofhuis has worked as a strategy consultant with organizations such as the European Union, GIZ, Investment Board Nepal, TradeMark Africa, Maersk, and Value Logistics.[5] He founded Fleetlink, a transport consultancy in Cape Town, South Africa.[3]
In 2018, Hofhuis founded SovereignBoss, a London-based platform focused on equity release and retirement planning.[6] He also launched EveryInvestor, a planning resource delivering valuable insights into wealth management, equity release, SIPPs, retirement planning, pensions, investment products, mortgages, and market trends.[7] His ventures include FundWeb and BankingTimes, offering resources for financial decision-making.[8]
Published works
[edit]Hofhuis has authored books on financial planning, including Equity Release and Retirement: Your Guide to Later Life Mortgage Options and SIPPs: Your Guide to Self-Invested Personal Pensions.[9]
Community engagement
[edit]Hofhuis is active in promoting environmental sustainability and compliance with recycling laws.[10][11] He also participates in public speaking engagements on financial consulting and business innovation.[12]
