Brilliant Polymers Private Limited is an Indian specialty chemicals company manufacturing laminating adhesives for the flexible packaging industry[1]. The firm was founded by Dr. Ravinder R. Talwar and his son Gaurav R. Talwar, in 2011, and is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, operating one of the world’s largest single-site production facilities[2] for packaging adhesives in Ambernath, India.
History
[edit]Brilliant Polymers was incorporated on 5 May 2011[1] by Dr. Ravinder Talwar, a veteran of the Indian packaging adhesives industry, and Gaurav Talwar, a chemical engineer with experience at Henkel[3]. Dr. Talwar had previously founded Converter Adhesives and Chemicals Ltd., a pioneer in Indian adhesive manufacturing, which was acquired by Henkel AG, where he served as Managing Director.[3]
Commercial operations began in 2013. The company quickly grew to become India’s leading manufacturer of laminating adhesives. In 2020, Brilliant Polymers was ranked 43rd in the Economic Times India’s Growth Champions list.[4]
In July of 2022, the company began operations at its second plant at the Ambernath site with an investment exceeding ₹100 crore ($11.8m), doubling its capacity to 45,600 tonnes per annum.[5][6][7]
Products and services
[edit]Brilliant Polymers manufactures a wide range of adhesives and polymers used in flexible packaging:
- Solvent-based adhesives – Two-component polyurethane adhesives including glymo-free variants that enhance food safety compliance.
- Solvent-free adhesives – Marketed under the Max Cure brand, these offer low migration and fast curing for food-safe applications.
- Extrusion primers – Coatings used for enhanced adhesion in extrusion lamination.
- Polyurethane and polyester resins – Used in adhesive formulations and coatings.
- Custom adhesive solutions – Tailored for specific converter requirements.
Its products are used in the food, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods packaging sectors, and are exported to over 25 countries.
Manufacturing

The company’s manufacturing facility is located in the MIDC Morivali industrial estate, Ambernath. The site includes two automated plants managed by a Distributed Control System (DCS) for precision in large batch production.
The facility is ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certified and features advanced quality control and R&D labs. Following the 2022 expansion, the site’s capacity reached approximately 45,600 metric tonnes per annum.[8]

About 70% of revenue comes from domestic sales, while 30% is from exports. The company has maintained a conservative capital structure with strong interest coverage.[8]
