Project Scope & Land Acquisition Total Project Area: Approximately 35,300 acres Land Acquired (as of May 2025): Around 17,840 acres 12,700 acres from private owners 5,140 acres from government departments Number of Villages Involved: 33 revenue villages in Jhansi district Estimated Land Acquisition Cost: ₹6,312 crore Budget Allocation: ₹5,000 crore in FY 2022-23, ₹5,000 crore loan provision in FY 2023-24 under the Chief Minister Industrial Area Expansion and New Industrial Area Promotion Scheme.
Infrastructure & Connectivity BIDA is strategically located to leverage existing and upcoming infrastructure projects:
Bundelkhand Expressway: A 296 km expressway enhancing connectivity between Chitrakoot and Etawah, facilitating faster movement of goods and people. UP Defence Industrial Corridor: With nodes in Jhansi and Chitrakoot, this corridor complements BIDA's objectives by promoting defense manufacturing. Jhansi Link Expressway: An under-construction project aimed at further improving regional connectivity.
Investment Incentives To attract investors, BIDA offers several financial incentives:
Land Subsidy: 50% subsidy in Bundelkhand, capped at 7.5% of the total project cost or ₹75 crore, whichever is lower. Interest Subsidy: Up to 60% reimbursement of annual interest for 7 years, with a cap of ₹10 crore per year, accumulating to a total ceiling of ₹50 crore per park. Capital Subsidy: 7% subsidy up to ₹20 crore on Fixed Capital Investment (excluding land and building).
Governance & Oversight Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is personally overseeing the BIDA project, with daily progress reviews to ensure timely execution. A dedicated team within BIDA focuses on accelerating business processes, project management, and developing investor-friendly policies.
Vision & Future Outlook BIDA envisions transforming Bundelkhand into a thriving industrial city, fostering economic development, and providing employment opportunities, especially for the local youth.
