The Capture of Multan (1759) was a bloodless takeover of the city of Multan by the forces of Ahmad Shah Durrani during his fourth invasion of India. As part of his larger campaign against the Maratha Empire and their growing influence in northern India, Ahmad Shah advanced through the Bolan Pass with a large Afghan army. The Maratha governor of Multan, recognizing the overwhelming strength of the approaching Afghan force, abandoned the city and fled to Lahore, leaving Multan undefended.[2][3]
