}} Charlie Williams (born 25 February 1994) is a British actor and former professional boxer. He is known for his role as Ryan McShane in the 2025 British boxing crime drama film Salvable.[1].

Early life and Boxing career
[edit]Williams was born in Birmingham, England. He began boxing at a young age and turned professional in 2014, initially fighting in the super featherweight division before moving to lightweight.
He also competed under promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom and finished his career with a record of eight wins and one draw in nine bouts, remaining undefeated. In 2017, Williams became the first ever professional boxer based in Tamworth to win a professional title, securing the Midlands Area lightweight title [2]
Williams retired from boxing after citing challenges related to mental health, including anxiety and stress. He later spoke publicly about the impact of his sister’s death, which contributed to his decision to leave the sport [1].
Transition to acting
[edit]After retiring from boxing, Williams trained in acting at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. He has also been associated with the Inspire Actors Studio in Birmingham. Williams is currently represented by Icon/Pha Actors.[3]
He appeared in commercials for Bet365 [4] in 2021 and 2022. In 2025, Williams was cast in the British boxing-themed crime drama film Salvable [5] [6], Cast by Aisling Knight and directed by Björn Franklin and Johnny Marchetta. The film features actors including Shia LaBeouf, Toby Kebbell, and James Cosmo. Williams plays the role of Ryan McShane.

Williams is dedicated to voice his support for working class actors in the arts and advocates for greater opportunities and visibility for working class actors.[7]
