Cil ( ) is a letter of the Cyrillic script. It was based off the Georgian Mkhedruli letter Ts'ili (წ) and was used in many of Peter von Uslar's alphabets for Caucasian languages.

Usage

Cil was used in many of Peter von Uslar's orthographies, including:

• the 1871 and 1911 versions of the Lezgin Cyrillic alphabet as the 45th and 41st letters respectively,
• the 1862 Abkhaz alphabet as the 45th letter,
• the 1888 Chechen alphabet as the 33rd letter,
• the 1892 and 1911 Dargwa alphabets as the 38th and 37th letters respectively,
• the 1875 Tabasaran alphabet as the 46th letter.

Encoding

This letter as well as the Cil with bar has not been included in Unicode yet; however it can be substituted for the Georgian Mkhedruli letter Ts'ili.
