If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources. This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.

This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). He first gained prominence through TikTok, where his comedic videos—particularly his "videos that don't make sense" series—garnered a significant following. He is also known for his signature "ahooeye"[2] sound effect, which became a viral trend. As of 2025, Detahjae has amassed over 360,000 followers on TikTok.[3]
Career
[edit]Detahjae began releasing music in 2018,[4] experimenting with various styles before developing his distinct sound. His music blends elements of alternative hip-hop, neo-soul, and experimental rap,[5] drawing inspiration from artists such as Tyler, The Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, and Kid Cudi.[6] In 2024, he released his debut studio album, Lone Borealis,[7] after 4 years of development. The album received positive reviews for its introspective lyricism, ethereal production, and conceptual storytelling. Tracks such as "Abyss" and "Janice" were particularly praised for their atmospheric quality and emotional depth. The album earned a user score of 74 out of 100 on Album of The Year[6], based on over 300 ratings.
Musical Style and Influences
[edit]Detahjae's music is characterized by lush, dreamy production, intricate wordplay, and a focus on themes of self-discovery, existentialism, and personal growth. His sound incorporates jazz-inspired instrumentation, lo-fi beats, and melodic flows, often compared to the works of Frank Ocean, Tyler, The Creator and Steve Lacy.[8] Other notable artists that infuenced Detahjae are Varnish La Piscine, Rimera, Bernaha and Childish Gambino.[9]
