Faith Over Fear
[edit]Faith Over Fear is an Indian rock/metal band formed in Chennai, India, in 2023. The band is known for its fusion of heavy guitar-driven sound with introspective lyrics and themes centered around hope, resilience, and self-empowerment. Since its formation, Faith Over Fear has gained a cult following in the Indian independent music scene.
History
[edit]Faith Over Fear was formed by Mathew Shaun Rosario in 2023 with the goal of creating powerful music that resonates with emotional depth and social consciousness and allows the audience to be involved in the performances. Their early performances took place in college festivals and underground venues, earning them recognition for their energetic live shows and lyrical themes.
The band's name, Faith Over Fear, symbolizes the idea of overcoming inner and outer struggles through faith in God.
Musical Style and Influences
[edit]The band draws influences from alternative rock, classical rock and Indie metal. They were initially inspired by other Indie bands such as One Love, The Remnants and Thaikkudam Bridge. Lyrically, the group tackles themes of heartbreak, mental health and perseverance.

[edit]Faith Over Fear has performed at several independent music festivals and college events, including at NIFT, PIMS, and REC. They had their first concert at Medai - The Stage, Alwarpet in 2023.
