First Baltic music channel[1] (Latvian: Pirmais Baltijas muzikālais kanāls; Russian: Первый Балтийский музыкальный канал) was a Russian-language music television channel launched in 2005.[2] The channel broadcast in Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, United States and Israel. The channel ceased broadcasting on 1 November 2017 and was replaced by Dom Kino .[3]
History
[edit]The channel launched in 2002.
The channel was interactive, allowing viewers to request songs and send greetings via SMS. It was part of the Baltic Media Alliance media holding.
The channel broadcasts from Riga, Latvia.
The channel ceased broadcasting on January 1, 2015 (Satellite broadcasting), October 22, 2015 (Analog broadcasting), November 1, 2017 (Cable broadcasting), mid-2020 (Internet broadcasting) due to transition to the Internet platform TVDOM.tv (Cable broadcasting), Covid-19 (Internet broadcasting) and requirements of the Copyright Holder (Analog broadcasting).
It replaced by Dom Kino (Cable broadcasting) and Kanal 1+ (Analog broadcasting).
